Marshall – “Black Gold Country”
Directions: 15 kms east of Lloydminster on Highway 16.
The village of Marshall is a bedroom community to the nearby City of Lloydminster. Most residents are employed in the area’s booming oilpatch or in the city.
This growing community has a Credit Union, a Post Office, library, restaurant, and hotel. There are two community halls, a convenience store and gas station.
Marshall has a K-9 school in the community, with older students being bussed to Lloydminster for junior high and high school. Marshall School has a new library and gym floor.
This is an active community, with a hockey rink, ball diamonds and a skateboard park. There are several groups and committees that help residents to stay involved in their community.
Health services are located in Lloydminster. There is a local dedicated volunteer fire department.
Marshall Daze is a yearly event organized for the community’s children. The event kicks off with a pancake breakfast put on by the Fire Department and ends with the Credit Union’s barbecue supper. The day is filled with games, ball tournaments and lots of prizes. Other fun local events include a Fall Turkey Shoot and a Spring Ham Shoot.
