Lac des Isles, SK
Directions: From Lloydminster take Hwy 17 North out of the city and travel approximately 21.4 kms. Turn right (East) onto Hwy 3 at the Alcurve junction. Continue on Hwy 3 for about 56 kms. Turn left at Hwy 26 and continue for 98.1 kms, arriving in Goodsoil, SK. From Goodsoil, head west to access the South side of the lake. For access to the North side, take Hwy 224 and head west on Hwy 950. Approximately a 1.5 hr drive from Lloydminster
Lac des Isles is one of the largest lakes in the Meadow Lake Provincial Park. The park itself is a very popular vacation spot, with plenty of opportunity for fishing, boating, sunbathing and wildlife spotting. The park is located about two hours North of North Battleford, SK, near the Alberta and Saskatchewan border.
A clean lake with a hard sand bottom, Lac des Isles is 13 miles long and 3.5 miles at the widest point. Average depth is 30’ to 40’ with some areas as deep as 100’. Various islands and bays provide great spots for fishing as well as ample room on the beaches for sunbathing. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and spot wildlife from the boat, quad, or snowmobile. Spend a day fishing and you might catch Northern Pike, Walleye, Yellow Perch and Whitefish as well as four species of trout.
Nearby towns are Goodsoil and Dorintosh. Each community has a grocery store, gas station, hotel and liquor store. Go for a round of golf at Goodsoil or check out the town’s pioneer museum on a rainy day. The larger communities of Meadow Lake, SK and Cold Lake, AB. are only about an hour’s drive.
