Welcome to Midwest Country!
This website was originally created for the national and international clients of the McClelland Group, RE/MAX of Lloydminster, who were seeking information on the communities and lakes on the 5,000 square mile region on the Alberta / Saskatchewan border that is called "Canada's Midwest".
Since there wasn't a single comprehensive source to refer people to, we decided to build one. Our team promises to keep adding to it as we gain a better understanding of what our visitors are looking for; in particular more photos will be added as pictures say it better than we can.
This unique and beautiful region is situated between prairie on the south and well into the forest on the north. Geologists call it "parkland" and that probably is an apt description as any.
The Midwest is blessed with a vibrant local economy driven primarily by oil, agriculture, and tourism. In fact, there are more jobs than people to fill them. If you are seeking a safe, family friendly community to raise your children in, then you have come to the right place.
Maybe you are looking for relaxing recreation property or simply an affordable place to retire; both are here. We have hundreds of citizens who maintain a residence here, but work somewhere else in the world as it is only a 3 hour commute to Edmonton International Airport or 6 hours by highway to Ft. McMurray
As you browse through the site, keep in mind that it was our intent to give you just a glimpse of local life. You really need to visit the area to appreciate it, particularly if you are planning to purchase real estate.
